Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017: The Range Average of Samsung Is Renewed, This Is All What Has Changed

We already knew that Samsung was preparing one new generation of its popular series Galaxy and finally today made official. The South Korean company has announced the new Galaxy A3, A5 Galaxy and Galaxy A7 2017, three new models that raises the bar a range of media that increasingly wants to look more to the high range.

Samsung improves your mid range with a trio of smartphones which integrate features typically found in more advanced models such as the reader of fingerprints, their designs in metal and glass and, above all, the resistance to water. We compare the new Galaxy to 2017 with the previous generation.

Perfecting the design, now with water resistance

One of the key features of the Galaxy A series since its inception is the design. After years on the versatility of plastic, Samsung gave to the premium fashion and he began to introduce materials such as aluminum and glass in its range medium with an objective clear: emulate their high-end designs.

With the Galaxy to 2016, Samsung already gambled on a very neat appearance that he remembered much to the Galaxy S series, with an aluminum frame around the front and both sides covered in glass. The Galaxy A 2017 continue along the same path but soften even more forms, a little line changes that presents the S7 Galaxy with respect to the S6.

But If there is an important change related to the design, that is without doubt the water resistance. The rumors said that only the Galaxy A7 would have this property, but finally the IP68 certificate has reached the three models which form the series.

According to the official specifications, the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 2017 can withstand dives of up to a meter in depth for a maximum of 30 minutes without damage, exactly the same as older series Galaxy S siblings.

Another highlight is the three to keep the classic front button Samsung, but in this case all of them make up a fingerprint reader. Last year Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 stood out and did not have this element. This move would have to do with the expansion of Samsung Pay to more devices of the range, but it also is an advantage when it comes to unlock the terminal and save us typing passwords.

What’s new in hardware, not so much in software

Besides the water resistance, the new Galaxy A have also improved key hardware aspects such as memory. Now the most basic model, the A3 2017, has 2 GB of RAM and older siblings amounted to 3 GB. In addition, the 16 GB base of the previous series, now the Galaxy A5 and A7 go up to 32 GB capacity, all of them are compatible with MicroSD up to 256 GB.

With respect to processors, Samsung has not offered specific details but the three have with chips of eight cores that presumably will be Exynos. Last year the Galaxy A came in versions both with chip Exynos Snapdragon. It remains to be seen if the same thing happens in the different markets in which the new range is launched.

In the photographic section, Samsung raises the resolution in both houses, reaching the 16-Megapixel in the case of the A5 Galaxy and Galaxy A7, while the Galaxy A3 maintains a rear 13 megapixel f/1.9 lens and a 8-megapixel front camera.

Another notable change from the previous generation is the presence of a port USB-C, that already is spreading by the high-end and standard which now lands in the middle range of the manufacturer. This connector provides advantages of face at a greater speed in data transfer and also the load. It also has a more convenient reversible design. The port that does not change is the headphone minijack.

However, although the new Galaxy to 2017 are updated at points such as the connectivity for USB-C or the water resistance, Samsung remains committed to an outdated version of software and all three come standard with Android 6.0.1 and not Android Nougat as we had hoped. Then we leave you two tables with specifications with all differences between both ranges.
