The university was initially known as the Muhammadan Anglo Oriental College and was established to promote education among Muslims of British India. Admissions Requirements
Aligarh University has a wide variety of admissions requirements and procedures for admission, depending on the type of program the student is applying to. All applicants must meet the minimum eligibility criteria and submit the requisite documents, as specified by the university. For undergraduate programs, applicants must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate score of 50% from a recognized board. In some cases, additional entrance exams may be required. For postgraduate programs, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Entrance exams are conducted for some postgraduate courses as well.
International students are required to fulfill all the same requirements mentioned above and also demonstrate proficiency in English language via IELTS or TOEFL scores.
