Meaning of FUSS

Ruckus comes from stirring up a verb that refers to the action unsettle, disturb, annoy, confuse or alter. An uproar, therefore, can be a disorder, riot, or revolt.

For example: “The entrance of a young man with a banner generated a commotion at the conference”, “When the animal escaped from its cage, there was a great commotion at the zoo”, “The commotion was caused by the announcement of the manager, who announced that wages would not be paid until next week. ”

According to DigoPaul, the idea of fuss is usually linked to the yelling, the noise or the noise generated by a subject or a group of individuals: “I don’t like this restaurant because there is always a fuss”, “Could you end the fuss, please? I’m trying to study ”, “ I can’t sleep with such a fuss: I hope that the neighbors finish their party soon ”.

Suppose, in a bar, there is only one table occupied with two people talking. Such conversation is not heard from a couple of meters away. An hour later, there are fifty people in the bar, all speaking simultaneously. The sound of all the accumulated voices causes an uproar: each individual has to raise his voice to make his interlocutor listen to him, at the same time bringing more noise to the environment.

Within the cultural field, we find different works that carry the term that concerns us in their titles. We are referring, for example, to the children’s story “Rampage on the farm”, which was published in 2008 and is the work of Stephen Cartwright.

In the same way, there is also the book “Alboroto en el guayabal”, which is written by the Anglo-Indian author Kiran Desai. It tells the story of Sampath Chawla, a young man who is a bad student and who seems to have no purpose in life, is dedicated to watching time go by. However, one day he climbs a tree to reflect and get away from others, allowing him to know an endless number of aspects of the life of his neighbors.

What will happen is that, suddenly, he found himself on top of the guayabal, having become a kind of sage to whom the people of the area come to consult his problems.

According to the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), the concept of fuss is also used in some countries with reference to rosettes of corn (known as popcorn, popcorn or pororós depending on the region) that carry honey or sugar.

In the same way, we cannot ignore that Alboroto is the name of a musical group from Seville. He specializes in flamenco and what he does is carry out flamenco or rumberas versions of well-known songs.

Loyal fans of video games and specifically Pokémon know that fuss is also what is called a sound movement that was introduced in the third generation. It does not generate any type of damage and is not used to fight but simply to awaken rivals.
