The Different Types of Prayers – Christians

A basic practice of Christianity is prayer. God ministers to our lives when we are in communion with Him. Although many people know how to pray, not all are aware that there are different ways to do it. The apostle Paul says in 1 Timothy 2: 1: “First of all, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings for all men … are made” .Then discuss each of these ways of speaking with God.

The Different Types of Prayers - Christians

Prayers: Prayer, in general, is the act of talking to God. The Christian should always seek the opportunity to pray. Perhaps one of the shortest verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that says, tersely, “Pray without ceasing.”

Wanting to learn to pray, the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how.

In Matthew 6: 9-13, Jesus gave them a model prayer we know as the Lord’s Prayer. From it we learn that we can pray for everything from the daily provision to the forgiveness of our sins.

Requests: The word means to ask or request request. Petitions and supplications are very similar, because in both sentences are asking God to act on behalf of someone or something.

The Bible teaches us that God answers prayers according to our faith (Mark 11:24) and His will (1 John 5: 14-15). God also wants our requests have a noble reason and does not have the root vanity.

In 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez have prayer as an example:
And Jabez called on the God of Israel. He said: “How I wish you to give me your blessing, that enlarge my territory, that Your hand be with me and free me from evil, that not any harm!” And God granted him what he requested.
When analyzing your request, we see that what Jabez really wanted was that God was present in his life. First ask for a general blessing, then ask for the work that God guide you in everything and deliver him from evil. God obviously felt good this request.

The requests do not work like machines where one made a coin and instead leaves a sweet.

God is not a machine to answer requests. As John says, God will answer requests according to his will.

The rogativa sentence: The Bible introduces us to the prophet Samuel through the prayers of his mother Ana Ana’s story is well known.. She was one of the two wives of Elkanah, the other being Peninnah. While Peninnah had children, Ana had not had any. Distress in Hannah’s heart was too big and to relieve the pain she prayed to the Lord.

Says 1 Samuel 1: 10-13:
Then she prayed and cried to the Lord with much bitterness, and made a vow. He said. “Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of this servant of yours, and you remember me and give me a son, I will give you, Lord, for life I promise you never razor will touch his head. ” And as she continued praying before the Lord, Eli watched her lips move. And it is that Ana spoke to the Lord from the depths of his being, and his lips moved but her voice was heard … “.

From this prayer we learn two things. First, the difference between prayer and supplication, a petition is that the person is praying to God in a state of humiliation and ready to surrender and give up anything. Second, this is a request which can be no reservations in expressing what you feel and explain what you are asking.

Why is it important rogativa prayer? Jesus tells us in the parable of the widow and the unjust judge our prayers, when they reach the ear of God, who is just, will be addressed. The moments spent praying and praying, are very intimate moments where our relationship with God is strengthened and He is preparing us to receive the answer we have been waiting for.

Thanksgiving: The prayer of thanksgiving is motivated praise. Continuing the story of Ana, we see that when God answered his prayer and Samuel was born, she took time to praise him.

Ana says in 1 Samuel 2: 1:
In you, Lord, my heart rejoices; In your name, my strength is greater. Now I can make fun of my enemies because I rejoice in your salvation.

Verse 5 says:
Those who were rich, now beg for work; those suffering from hunger has been sated. Even the barren has borne seven children, and now fertile woman faints.

The prayers of gratitude affirm our faith because we use our words to declare the glory of God and the greatness of his works. We must give thanks in all circumstances, both in good times and bad. Prayer of gratitude also filled with joy to the person. In them we find that we are strengthened and freed from emotional oppressions. Gratitude also moves the heart of God.
